Formed somewhere in 1970 and existed till 1989, GROBSCHNITT (which translates to ROUGH CUT) were an excellent German band from the mid-Seventies. The band was created by EROC (percussion), (WILLI) WILDSCHWEIN (guitars & vocals), and LUPO (guitar). They were most known as a hybrid of YES (symphonic progressive group), but they also explored other progressive rock styles. Their sound was characterized by sometimes humorous approach to making music, exhibited in both the lyrics and in the chimeric sound of the instruments.

Macbeer is a maniac when it comes to downstrokes. He likes it fast and tight, while singing like James Hetfield on speed. Then we have Broke, the one man in the band that is wise enough to still be in college. He is the one that comes up with the great riffs, hooks and solo’s you hear throughout the songs. No, he won’t buy you beer, we didn’t name him Broke for nothing. CasB is the loudest in the band, and never afraid of making a joke about poo or pee. Some people never mature, and CasB is their king. Last but not least there’s R0m0, instead of blood he’s got Red Bull running through his veins. Each show it’s a surprise what colour his hair will be, and how close he gets to breaking the speed-record on bass. All together they are Twiggy, in-your-face-Skatecore, influenced by bands like Bad Religion, Rise Against, Bigwig, Bambix, Slayer and ofcourse: Los del Rio. They once started with 3-chord-punk, but now they’ve moved to more melodic punkrock and fast melodic kick ass skatecore

Beaumont Hannant is a musician, producer and DJ from York, England. His music and contributions extend to ambient techno, IDM, hip hop and indie rock. Hannant became a hip-hop/electro DJ in 1986 after witnessing the 1986 World Mixing Championships. During 1993-1994 he released several solo albums rooted in ambient techno. His music from this period has been described as eclectic, densely-layered, and textured.

Theodore Roosevelt "Hound Dog" Taylor was born in Natchez, Mississippi, in 1915 (some sources say 1917). He originally played piano, but began playing guitar when he was 20 and moved to Chicago in 1942. He became a full-time musician around 1957 but remained unknown outside of the Chicago area, where he played small clubs in the black neighborhoods and also at the open-air Maxwell Street Market. He was known for his electrified slide guitar playing, his cheap Japanese guitars, and his raucous boogie beats. He was also famed among guitar players for having six fingers on his left hand.

Triclops! began in 2005 when Xtian from SF’s Bottles and Skulls and Johnny from Oakland’s Fleshies began collaborating on some new music. After finishing a tape with echo-laden-yet-visceral guitars/drums, vocals through half-broken solid state amps with phaser explosion, and both dudes attacking noise pedals/tape loops/randomly modified guitars, they began to realize the band was more than a little bit limited by the lack of a rhythm section.

(w/ engineer Phil Manley of Trans Am, Fucking Champs, Golden) for renowned Chicago indie label SickRoom Records, which was released on February 6th, 2007 with a 12" Picture Disc version on Missing Finger Records from Brooklyn issued in March 07. On September 9th, 2007 came a picture disc 7" which turned out to be the last release for the highly influential Gold Standard Laboratories. In their short but productive existence Triclops! has shared the stage on some exciting and diverse show bills with bands such as Acid Mother’s Temple, Don Caballero, Free Moral Agents, Hanson Brothers and Circle. The band have toured with 400 Blows, QUI (David Yow of TheJesus Lizard), Federation X, Burning Brides, played the Gold Standard Labs showcase at SXSW on March 17, 2007 for a packed house at Emo’s in Austin. In the fall they traveled to NYC for the CMJ Music Marathon, then headed down south to Gainesville, Florida for the No Idea records event aptly named Fest 6. Now in late fall/early winter 2007 in keeping up with their prolific ideals they are gearing up to release the brand new full length "Out Of Africa" recorded with Melvins engineer Kurt Schlegel at his Lucky Cat studios in SF. The band are ultra stoked that Jello Biafra chased them down to secure the album’s release on his historically awesome Alternative Tentacles. Street date TBA: Keep your holes open. . .

There are two bands named Die Trying: 1) Die Trying is a four member rock band formed in 2001. It was based in Sacramento, California. After signing a contract with Island Records in 2002, they released their first single, "Oxygen’s Gone", followed by their self-titled debut album on June 10, 2003. Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach appears on the song "Conquer The World" from that album. The bands name comes from their relentless effort in trying to make it and willingness to do anything. They would either make it or "Die Trying."

The lead single "Oxygen’s Gone" received heavy video airplay on MTV, MTV2, and Fuse. It also was able to land spots on Billboard’s Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks for 8 weeks with a peak position of #35, along with Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks for 6 weeks with a peak position of #29
Die Trying disbanded thanks to what the band states as "shitty management, drugs, lawsuits, band drama, and all kinds of bad luck" in 2004. In 2006, they reformed as Vanity Kills. In 2007, they changed name to the Sin City Angels and then reverted back to the original name Die Trying. This was recently stated by Jensen:
"I’m in the studio now actually. Hope to have new music later this year. . " on 1/13/08

2) Die Trying was a hardcore band that excited for a short while in 2003, featuring ex-members of the legendary New Jersey Straight Edge band Floorpunch. They sounded like Floorpunch and classic NYHC. Die Trying re-used one song from Smash And Grab, another short-lived post-Floorpunch band. In March 2003 they changed their name from Die Trying to Volume 4
